Olympia Coffee Roasting Co // Stella:
I mean, it’s not a surprise my favorite thing this Friday is coffee. I have been slowly transitioning from one cup a day to two cups. Luckily, my coffee maker (aka husband) makes the all important first cup. But for my second cup, I have been turning to Oly Coffee. They focus on small batches of quality coffee beans. The shop is pristine with a lovely aesthetic. The best part about the shop is that they really are interested in educating folks about coffee and their process. They have cuppings on Fridays that are open to the public. Bottom line, the coffee is amazing.

Investing // Kendall: I’ve been maxing out my retirement contributions for 3 years now. Under my current employer our benefit plan provides 100% investment responsibility to the employees. There is no portfolio of investments for us to choose from, the world of bonds, equities and whatever else comes to mind is ours to experiment with. A plus to some… completely overwhelming to me. About a third of my retirement savings have been sitting in un-invested cash for many months now. FAIL. This past week I finally kicked it into gear and starting using the many resources that Charles Schwab has available to its account holders. I’m not yet ready to seek out an adivisor. I CAN DO THIS! Time to tune in and realize some ROI.

Truce Juice // Allie: I’ve recently started a love affair with Truce Juice. It’s kitty corner to my apartment so it’s almost impossible to ignore the beautiful branding, the fresh pressed juice and the delicious acai bowls every morning on my way to work. After turning 30 and hearing numerous reports on how sitting all day at work is literally cutting years off my life, I’ve decided to devote some serious time and effort into my daily health routine. Just after two weeks of replacing my lunch with the Morning Greens juice, I already have more energy, I feel sharper at work and I’ve even been sleeping better!

Magnolias // Stella: Springtime, it seems overly romanticized to me. I’m not trying to be cynical. But since moving to the Pacific Northwest, spring usually equals the beginning of the worst allergies I’ve ever had. For most parts of the country, springtime usually signals a change in weather. Not here. Same gray skies, moderate temperatures, and of course, rain. The saving grace of spring is the abundance of flowering trees. They just explode out here and end up leaving a carpet of pink and white petals. I discovered my absolute favorite tree since moving out here, the Magnolia. They produce these delicate, floppy flowers. We have a pink one in our front yard. The blooms only last for a mere moment it seems, so every chance I get, I just stare at it. My master plan is to surround our house with an army of them.

DIY Desk // Kendall: My sister sent me a picture of her newly curated stand up desk late last week and I have been obsessing over it ever since. Not much else to say other than I want one and I can’t wait to build my own. Such a charming addition to her growing photography studio. Simple. Elegant. Modern.

Our Shared Shelf // Allie: As if I needed another reason to love Emma Watson – she’s started a feminist book club via GoodReads, which also happens to be one of my other favorite things on the web. In case you’ve been living under a rock, Emma has recently shifted her focus from acting to the women’s rights movement and is a pretty astute and outspoken UN Ambassador on the issue. For the book club, titled, ‘Our Shared Shelf,’ Emma selects a monthly read covering women’s rights topics and then encourages discussions amongst the members. Not only does it give me direct access to one of the women I look up to most, but a community of women all over the world who are participating in reading and discussing an issue so near and dear to my heart.
